You likely only have a week off of work (two weeks, if you’re lucky) and nothing will haunt your dreams like losing even a single day of your trip due to lack of wind. Tawila, Geisum, Ashrafi, and the other islands north of Hurghada where we sail our Dragonfly Kite Safaris see a historical average of 90% kiteable wind from May to October, usually pumping around 20 to 25 knots, all-day, all-night. We often go weeks without a wind-free day—seriously, weeks! Whatever the forecast is for towns like El Gouna or Hurghada, you can typically add on 4-5 knots for an accurate at-sea wind forecast for our kite safaris. And forget about gusty conditions—the wind comes across the sea from the north/northeast with no obstructions. This is as clean and consistent wind as you will ever find.
